This is no longer offered. The time and effort it takes exceeds the cost of offering this service.

Thanks for asking though.

That's the point. No forum provider likes to give out DB backups for just that reason. Any forum that moves is lost income for that provider. Our forums have ads on them unless you purchase ad-free credits. By purchasing ad-free credits we're not losing money by having the ads off that forum. By having a forum move and giving them a DB backup they are gone and not likely coming back. That means a permanent loss of revenue.

I'm sorry MartyH, but you're outta luck on this one.

Thanks for the biz lesson,

I'm sorry but I need some features that you do not offer see below, what do you suppose I do ? I did not want to leave, I like the portals and stuff, but there are a lot of options out there that require access to the root files and I want a few of them for my forum.

And I told you how to make do with a free one. We won't be offering a chatroom, as I already stated, that will do these kind of things. Editing the root files isn't an option either. There are so many free ones out there that those will do fine. I don't know what else to say. Confused

I suppose we are talkiing about two different things here, I want to integrate my user database into a chat room, I am not aware of a free one that will do that, I am also not aware of one that will do it without accessing, adding and editing files in the root directory, I have already done this here,

http://hvac-talk-forum.com/bb/login.php?redirect=chat.php

So whats the big deal ? It took approx. 20 miutes,

I am willing to pay for the time to save the pain of moving the forum. I want this feature , and if its not possible thats fine but I do not see why I can't at least get a backup of my forum so I can move on without losing all my data,

if you go to the link above and then hit forum index, you can see where the who's chatting shows up on the bottom of the page, it blends in real nice with the PhP software. I set that up as a test , and it works fine. I would just like to do it here and keep this fourm.

Well, the feature does blend and work well, pity it isn't available here. Definitely have to commend you on your efforts there Marty.

Thanks moderators.

Marty, I'm sorry that I just don't have time to offer DBs.

Regarding chat... I would think that the Shoutbox provides the same functionality as a chat. I don't the having the numbers of chatters shown will be very interesting as it will usually be 0, given my observations.

Hi Mark, welcome back,

Your loss on the chat thing, it would be a worthy enhancement as compared to previous enhancements that I have seen. Just my opinion of course.

Edited due to facetious nature of comment

Zen - you said your piece, it was answered, no need to get testy
