|
|
From time to time, and especially before sending out a Mass Email to your members, you will want to prune your memberlist to remove members who have never posted or never activated their accounts.
To start, visit your admin panel: User Admin -> Pruning
You will be presented with several options:
- Prune non-posting users
- Prune non-visting users
- Prune non-activated users
- Prune long-time-since users
- Prune not-posting so often users
Each option can be customized to exempt new members from the prune, based on how new the member is. For example, you might not want to prune all members who have never logged-in, because those registering in the last few days may be intending to participate soon.
The display will also show exactly when members will be deleted, although there is a display limit of 800 members per option, so if you see 800 in the list it usually means there are actually many more and you may need to do multiple prune passes to be complete.
We recommend pruning all non-visiting and non-activated members older than 25 days or so. And all non-posting members older than a month or two.
Please note that there is no email notification, because many of these members may be spam related, and the emails are likely to be bad anyway. Also note there is no undo. _________________ Mark
